A flower cover up tattoo hides names, scars, and small symbols because petals and leaves are irregular. Peonies and roses give the dark centers. A fine outline with empty petals leaves the old ink showing in the gaps. The darkest part of the flower has to land on the darkest part of the old tattoo, and the leaves have to pass the ends of a word or a scar.

Florals can stay smaller than a Japanese sleeve, which is why they show up on forearms, wrists, and the upper back. Photograph the whole area so the leaves have room in the preview.
